FIRST EVENT:

The 45th Annual “MARCH FOR LIFE” will be held on Friday, JANUARY 19, 2018 in Washington, D.C.  Every year this National Event draws more than 100,000 people from across the nation.  The theme for the 2018 “March” is :“Love Saves Lives”.

The bus sponsored by the New Castle Chapter of People Concerned for the Unborn Child will depart from Lawrence Village Plaza/K-Mart, 2650 Ellwood Rd.,on Friday, January 19 at 4:45AM and will Return between 12:01-1:00AM Saturday.  For Reservations, call Joanne Mellott (724-667-9510) or e-mail her at mellotts111@hotmail.com    The bus fee for adults is $40.00 and for students is $25.00.

Below are quotes from the March for Life Website:
Vision:  A world where every human life is valued and protected.

Mission: The mission of the March for Life is to provide all Americans with a place to testify to the beauty of life and the dignity of each human person. Both in January, on the anniversary of legalized abortion in the US, and throughout the year we bring together pro-life leaders and groups to organize, unite and strategize around a common message, and to communicate this message to the government, the media and the nation in a way that is powerful and life affirming.

History: January 22, 1973 is ingrained in the minds of pro-lifers because on that infamous historic day the Supreme Court invalidated 50 state laws and made abortion legal and available on demand throughout the United States in the now-infamous decisions in Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton.

original march for life with NellieThe March for Life in Washington, D.C., began as a small demonstration and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world.  The peaceful demonstration that has followed on this somber anniversary every year since 1973 is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violation of our time, legalized abortion on demand.

At the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, we mourned the death in 2012 of Nellie Gray, the founder of the March for Life and the “Joan of Arc” of the pro-life movement. In October 1973, months after the Roe and Doe decisions, a group of thirty pro-life leaders gathered in Nellie’s home in Washington, D.C. to discuss how to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Roe. There was a fear that January 22 would pass as any other day rather than allow for a moment to reflect upon how legalized abortion had hurt women and taken babies’ lives over the course of the year. That was the day that plans for the first March for Life began.

SECOND EVENT:

ABOVE: At every “Light A Candle for Life” there is a group of students who sing “I’m Glad that God Made Me”, by local composer Reatha Gibbs.  Reatha is the secretary at Prevailing Word World Outreach Center.  That’s her on the right.  She attends every pro-life event and is always among the last to leave because she wants to help with the final details, like helping us load our cars.   Reatha is a kind, thoughtful and very smart woman with many talents, including a high expertise with a computer!

The 32nd annual  “LIGHT A CANDLE FOR LIFE” Prayer Vigil of the New Castle Chapter of People Concerned for the Unborn Child,   will be held on Sunday, JANUARY 21, 2018 at Kennedy Square (The Diamond) in New Castle.  Beginning at 6pm, every person will pick up a luminary kit which contains dry sand, 10 white lunch bags with names (for babies who never got a name, because they were never born) printed by students at the New Castle Christian Academy and St. Vitus School.

Tables will be set up on the sidewalks at the Diamond so that those attending can prepare the one thousand luminary candles which they will place and light on the plastic covering the ground. We will kneel and pray in memory of the 61MILLION+ American baby boys and girls who have died by abortion and for their mothers, who have been forever harmed by their abortion since the Supreme Court abortion decisions of Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton on January 22, 1973.

The agenda for the evening is as follows:   6:00PM at the Diamond, Comments by Claudia McConnell, Co-Chair, PCUC.  The Opening Prayer will be led by Rev. David Bell, Pastor, First United Brethren Church; “God Bless America” will be sung by students of St.Vitus School, New Castle Christian Academy and the American Heritage Girls.  This will be followed by the lighting of the luminaries.  At 7:00PM a Prayer Service will be held inside at St. Mary’s Church Parish Center, one block north of Kennedy Square. Comments will be made by Sue Deasey, Co-Chair, PCUC. The main Speaker will be Sarah Bowen, Executive Director, Alpha Omega Centers followed by the Benediction by Rev. Zachary Galiyas, Parochial Vicar, Catholic Community of New Castle.

Those attending are encouraged to bring new baby Items to be donated this year to the Alpha Omega Centers

“Voiceless” is a pro-life movie which challenges clergy and lay people to speak for and act in defense of God’s gift of human life from conception to natural death. “Voiceless” is about a newly recruited church Outreach Minister who realizes that across from the church is an abortion mill.  He is convicted by God to put his faith into action and reach out to those being influenced by the clinic. The film was created by The Dove Foundation and will awaken the hearts of every Christian.

THOU SHALL NOT KILL.     ABORTION KILLS.

Who are the “Voiceless”?  They are little unborn babies and those who refuse to speak for them.   Abortion kills wee little unborn babies, each with it’s own DNA . BUT…we are silent,   WHY?   Nearly 3,000* babies die every day in the United States, the majority in Planned Parenthood abortion mills.

PCUC, New Castle Chapter has received a license from The Dove Foundation which expires in May of 2018.

The movie is rated PG-13.  Runtime is 1 hour, 42 minutes.  Below is a link to the trailer of the movie.

A pro-life celebration of President Trump’s First 100 days in office

By Dave Andrusko

Pro-life President Donald Trump

Pro-life President Donald Trump

National Right to Life News Today produces between 10 and 13 stories each and every day, Monday through Friday. In the last year, no story we posted generated more email than a story I wrote last July under the headline, “Would a President Hillary Clinton be any worse than other pro-abortion Democrat Presidents? Yes! Here’s how.”

We posted a kind of bookend story in February under the headline, “On this President’s Day, What if Hillary Clinton had won?

The point of both was to emphasize the extraordinary damage a woman who resides at the core of the International abortion movement could do to unborn babies here at home and around the world. Hillary Clinton would have done everything in her power as President to vastly multiple the number of dead babies around the world–and using, where possible, your and my tax dollars.

And even though we repeatedly emphasized the converse–all the good a President Trump could do for unborn babies–that drew less response than a frank harkening of the crippling impact of a Hillary Clinton presidency.

That’s probably just human nature, but as we approach this Saturday–the 100th day of the administration of pro-life President Donald Trump–we need to thank our lucky stars for all that Mr. Trump has already done for our cause.

Understandably, and rightly, we focus on the most recent and likely, the decision with the most long-term impact. In spite of pro-abortion Democratic harassment, President Trump’s choice to replace Antonin Scalia is now on the High Court. There is every reason–every reason– to anticipate that Justice Neil Gorsuch will prove an able and adroit successor to the great Justice Scalia who took the Constitution seriously.

Like you, I read a lot about Gorsuch. Almost nothing impressed me more than his repeated acknowledgments that judges are not legislators. In a speech delivered shortly after Scalia died last year, Gorsuch said

I want to … suggest that perhaps the great project of Justice Scalia’s career was to remind us of the differences between judges and legislators. To remind us that legislators may appeal to their own moral convictions and to claims about social utility to reshape the law as they think it should be in the future. But that judges should do none of these things in a democratic society. That judges should instead strive (if humanly and so imperfectly) to apply the law as it is, focusing backward, not forward, and looking to text, structure, and history to decide what a reasonable reader at the time of the events in question would have understood the law to be—not to decide cases based on their own moral convictions or the policy consequences they believe might serve society best.

Bear in mind that with a Supreme Court whose justices’ average age (excluding the 49-year-old Gorsuch) is almost 70, it is not unreasonable to expect at least one more vacancy to occur, if not more.

That’s the skywriting in the sky accomplishment–“Gorsuch confirmed as newest member of the Supreme Court”–but the President has been busy elsewhere. Here are four accomplishments, beginning at the beginning.

#1. Honoring the adage “personnel is policy,” President Trump’s administration is stocked with pro-lifers. To name just a few, they include Vice President Mike Pence, Counselor Kellyanne Conway, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price.

#2. On the first day of his first business week President Trump reinstated and expanded the Mexico City Policy. It simply tells nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) that, as a condition of their receipt of U.S. federal grant money, they must agree to neither perform nor actively promote abortion as a method of family planning overseas. But these pro-abortion NGOs are so wedded to facilitating abortion and undermining abortion laws, they will not agree to the restriction.

#3. Earlier this month, the Trump administration announced it will cut off U.S. funding for the United Nations Population Fund, on the basis that the UNFPA’s activities in China are complicit with that nation’s coercive population control program, the implementation of which includes forced abortion and involuntary sterilization.

#4. Also in April, President Trump signed into law H.J. Res. 43. In recent years, several states receiving Title X family planning grants opted to direct those funds to county health departments, community health centers, or other types of providers, rather than to abortion clinics. But Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services issued a last-minute regulation rule designed to block states from redirecting their Title X funds. H.J. Res. 43 uses the Congressional Review Act to restore that option to redirect Title X funds, if a state so chooses.

And as we look forward, we remember the promises the President made to the pro-life community while he was a candidate and is already keeping: nominate only pro-life justices to the Supreme Court; retain the life-saving Hyde Amendment; sign into law the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would end painful late-term abortions nationwide; and defund Planned Parenthood (which rakes in a half-billion dollars a year from the federal till) as long as they continue to perform abortions, reallocating their funding to community health centers that provide comprehensive health care for women.

At the risk of stating the obvious, President Trump receives an “A” from pro-lifers for his first 100 days in office.

On Friday, January 27th, 2017,  42 people (16 men, 25 women and 1 boy) boarded  our bus  to attend the 44th Annual March for Life!  Our group included five students from Westminster College and ten from Grove City College.  (The students were such a blessing to this 78 yr. old attending my 34th March for Life.)   The youngest was Gunnar, age 10.  Autumn, his Mom,  has traveled with us for many years.

Our group was filmed by EWTN near the end of the March.   We were very visible with our signs with two red hearts and the words, “Abortion, one heart  stops…. another heart breaks”.

I had a personal banner which read “Defend God’s Gift of Life… from Conception to Natural Death” .  This was carried by me and others; but mostly by Amy and Alex, Grove City College students. The rally prior to the March for Life began at Noon.  Hundreds of thousands came from all over the nation. We gathered at the base of the Washington Monument  to hear speakers Vice President Mike Pence, Cardinal Timothy Dolan,  and Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood Director, to name a few.  The actual march began around 1:00 PM.  Marchers left from the base of the Washington Monument, and marched up Constitution Avenue to the steps of the Supreme Court.

Check out this You Tube Video  to see our group at the MARCH FOR LIFE:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IvY5qVgq8w&feature=youtu.be
It’s the Entire EWTN  Coverage – over 7 HOURS!.   To see just us: Drag the red line all the way to 5:52:52  then Go to Settings and choose o.25 speed.  Look on the far left of the screen for the Black & White POSTER with the face of a baby and words “Face It Abortion Kills”. This is the first sign of our group and is followed  by our PCUC New Castle group, holding white signs with two red hearts and the words “Abortion, one heart stops…. another heart breaks”.    The March for Life is inspiring, awesome, prayerful  and invigorating, especially  for those of us who have spent many years speaking out in defense of God’s gift of Life.

Unlike EWTN, most of the media ignores this huge event which attracts hundreds of thousands every year.   The majority who attend are high school and college students.

Abortion is America’s genocide.   Planned Parenthood and groups like them are killing over 3,000 tiny little American baby boys and girls every day.    Over 1.3 million every year – over 60 MILLION since 1973.

Please Pray and do something each day to help stop the killing of the innocent.

Light A Candle for Life in the Darkness of Abortion

Our 31st annual “Light A Candle for Life” Prayer Vigil seemed  better this year.  Why?  In part, because it was held on Friday, January 20th, the day of the Inauguration of President Donald J. Trump.  It was now official! We had a Pro-Life President!!

It 100_1932was also better because
God blessed us with rain stopped at 3pm, the sun came out and nearly 75 people came to Kennedy Square to kneel, pray and light 1,000 luminaria in memory of the 60 million American babies lost to abortion and in concern and sympathy for their Mom’s.

100_1915

Prayer is a big part of any effort!

In the past 44 years, we have prayed,
believed and hoped that the evil of abortion would end.   Most of us believed that it would only end with the Supreme Court overturning the 1973  Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton.   Today, with the Inauguration of Pres. Donald J. Trump, who said he will nominate pro-life justices to the Court,
we may see the beginning of the end.”  (A few of my words at Kennedy Square.)

American Heritage Girls & Leader, Kathy Donegan

Thanks Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.
Please pray for President Trump.  He isn’t perfect; but he is working night and day to protect and defend life and our nation.
