As chair of PCUC New Castle, I have decided that it is too risky to resume having membership meetings at this time. The Covid-19 cases, illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths in our area are just too high for me to have any level of confidence that someone will not become ill or test positive as a result of 20+ people sitting around a table for 2 hours. The space we have at the Crane Room just does not allow for proper social distancing, and masks are obviously removed for eating\/drinking purposes. As you know, the cases began to rise quickly after election day and the holidays, and I had hoped that by now they would be at an acceptable level for a safe meeting. Sadly, we don’t always get what we hope for, even when it is with the best of intentions. There will be phone calls and social media posts to inform everyone when meetings and activities will resume. Please take care of yourselves by following guidelines, staying rested, and getting good nutrition such as lots of Vitamins C and D3.
